# Salt, pepper, herbs and spices

This puzzle is dedicated to an avid violinist.

Who is the violinist?

I got lots of upvotes for my previous "one-liner wonder" so thank you very much! Since you guys liked it, I have made another. Hope you guys enjoy! Also, there is a clue in the title this time, which oddly relates to the answer ;)

Oh, and for those who might find difficulty in anagramming (or for those who'd like a hint):

You don't have to anagram the entire riddle to find out the answer. I mean, what part of the puzzle are you trying to figure out anyway?

Working for Generalist Countdown
I also love anagrams anyways.

# Thank you!!!

This question made it into the Puzzling Stack Exchange Newsletter (Monday, July 15, 2019) as part of the top questions! Couldn't be done without you guys! Thank you very, very much!!! :D

• Haha I like the last part for the generalist badge... +1ed – Omega Krypton Jul 10 at 4:41

I like this a lot!

It's Antonio Vivaldi - a phrase which anagrams perfectly to 'to an avid violinist'!

The title is a clue since

These are four season(ing)s and one of Vivaldi's most famous concerto sets is 'The Four Seasons'.

• Already?! This is why one must never underestimate the skills on Puzzling... congratulations! You got it! When would you like the tick? :P edit: oh, and glad you liked the puzzle :) – Feeds Jul 9 at 11:59

• @MrPie Thanking you kindly, sir! Much obliged :) – Stiv Jul 10 at 14:52

An alternative answer to this could be:

Jean Sibelius, the composer who as a young man aspired to be a professional violinist, since 'Avid' is the name of the developers of the Sibelius suite of notation software.

Though this ignores the clue in the title.

• It additionally ignores the tag 'anagram' unfortunately, but nice attempt nevertheless, especially for your first answer on Puzzling.SE! (+1) – Feeds Jul 11 at 15:46
