Shouldn't be too hard:

Pokemon Korean Pop Star avoids object thrown at his head! (7)

$\begingroup$ Nice one! I'd improve the surface reading though, and change "avoids" to match "duck" (since verbs' tense and conjugation should match). Maybe something like "Pokemon star from Korea, get out of the way!" $\endgroup$ – Deusovi Jul 12 '16 at 21:20

$\begingroup$ (Probably shouldn't have partial answer in comment....) But a good idea though. $\endgroup$ – Jiminion Jul 12 '16 at 21:32

$\begingroup$ that one is perhaps a bit too easy I think .... I just read it in Hot Questions and got it right away. I'd be disappointed in a cryptic crossword that had more than a few clues quite that simple; it's almost a "straight" crossword clue $\endgroup$ – Glen_b Jul 13 '16 at 0:31

    $\begingroup$ @Lafexlos It's the number of letters in the answer $\endgroup$ – DooplissForce Jul 13 '16 at 11:36

$\begingroup$ Deusovi: Alternatively, "to avoid" instead of "avoids" would solve that problem. $\endgroup$ – paolo Oct 2 '16 at 8:42

Perhaps it's:

Psyduck?
Korean pop star = Psy
avoids object thrown at his head = duck (verb),
so Psy + duck = Psyduck, a Pokémon.

    $\begingroup$ Yep, easy one! Good job! $\endgroup$ – Jiminion Jul 12 '16 at 21:16

    $\begingroup$ @DooplissForce It's actually his head not his dead. $\endgroup$ – A J Jul 13 '16 at 4:40
  • $\begingroup$ @AJ Ah, my bad! $\endgroup$ – DooplissForce Jul 13 '16 at 11:36
  • $\begingroup$ Completely ignores "at his head" But this could be questioner's error. "Pokemon Korean Pop Star avoids thrown object " would be sufficient. $\endgroup$ – Chris Cudmore Jul 13 '16 at 14:12
  • $\begingroup$ @ChrisCudmore if thrown at foot or side, could be 'hop' or 'swerves'. $\endgroup$ – Jiminion Jul 13 '16 at 14:55
