Mar 14, 2015 at 20:09 | comment | added | user20 | Making a combined Community Wiki answer seems like the way to go here.
Mar 14, 2015 at 20:01 | comment | added | xnor | Sounds good to me. You could also make a CW combined answer.
Mar 14, 2015 at 19:23 | comment | added | Rand al'Thor | @ThePopMachine Excellent idea! I believe this is acceptable practice, since the aim of SE is to provide good-quality answers regardless of who posts them. If you edit Gamow's answers into xnor's, then Gamow can delete his answer and all's well.
Mar 14, 2015 at 19:17 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @randal'thor, well then I'm tempted to paste to other answer into this one to complete it.

Mar 14, 2015 at 18:28 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @Gamow: I realize you answered the question yourself, but really you should accept that answer, not this one. This one only give an answer to "how can you get 16"; it doesn't actually answer the question "What is the maximum". This can only be answered by somehow proving it, which the other answer does. There's nothing wrong with accepting your own answer, which is excellent.
