Jan 31, 2017 at 20:44 comment added elias If I remember well, 1s, 2s, 9s and 8s were easy to fill, also some of the 7s. Then there was a moment were it seemed to be stuck, but some classic sudoku thoughts helped to finish the 7s. I recommend the following trick: keep tracking what is the minimal and maximal possible value of a cell. That's all what I did.
Jan 31, 2017 at 20:34 comment added elias You can start with the extreme values, I went from 1 upwards. All of the 1s have to be in a cell which is smaller than all of its neighbours. The bottom right 3x3 box only has one like this. The center right 3x3 box also. Well the top right box has few, but at that point you can use the fact that the 8th and 9th columns already have a 1, so it should be in column 7. It's quite mechanic, actually.
