new guess for #2 and meta puzzle

Jan 26, 2017 at 20:09 | comment | added | M Oehm | Rearding you musings about the last missing clue: F1Krazy has proposed "assonance", but without any wordplay, and the OP has said that this was on the right track. I think it's likely that this is another &lit or that the definition is by example: "sun begun, perhaps". the "one ton one" is another example, but it could also mean "anti" (AN + T + I). I have no idea where to go with this one, really.

Jan 26, 2017 at 15:54 | comment | added | M Oehm | Non-uncle means UNCLEARER doesn't have an UNCLE. What's left, ARER, is strange, i.e anagrammed.
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:52 | comment | added | MikeQ | @MOehm That makes sense, although what about the "non-" part?
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:51 | comment | added | M Oehm |
UNCLEARER - UNCLE = (RARE)* - In good cooperative style, I've added that to my own answer. :)

Jan 26, 2017 at 15:20 | comment | added | M Oehm | I half expected Y to be sometimg like "ponytail" (except that that doesn't mean weird, of course).
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:14 | comment | added | MikeQ | @TheGreatEscaper Regarding the non-uncle, I think the definition is either "Strange" or "?". I found no meaningful anagrams for NONUNCLE, and I don't know any synonyms for "question mark".
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:13 | comment | added | TheGreatEscaper | @Sid Yup, I've since been told that's a rule breaker :( oh well.
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:09 | comment | added | Sid | Doesn't weird do double duty in that Y clue? I am not sure, that's acceptable
Jan 26, 2017 at 15:06 | comment | added | TheGreatEscaper | Hmm can't say I'm the biggest fan of your non-uncle answer. The definition through two steps seems a bit out there? Additionally, the indirect anagram and the anagram marker are both a bit dodgy.
