Oct 19, 2017 at 19:29 comment added xQbert @Glitch_Doctor one can have 5 queens in a game. Though I'd argue it would be rare. 8 pawns + 1 queen each side could have 9 queens. but I suppose you just meant starting pieces.

Jan 20, 2017 at 10:02 comment added Xynariz @Glitch_Doctor That'd be an interesting problem to pursue. Perhaps ask a question about it?
Jan 12, 2017 at 10:35 comment added Glitch_Doctor 5 Queens, nice. Is it even possible when limited to the standard game pieces?
Sep 14, 2016 at 4:26 comment added Xynariz That's a different, though still interesting, question.
Sep 13, 2016 at 23:05 comment added Kingrames I realize you're following the rules of the question, and I'm not calling that into question. My above comment was just brainstorming.
Sep 13, 2016 at 22:57 comment added Kingrames How many of those arrangements also threaten the squares the queens are standing on? (if we look at the image you have above, the queens don't threaten each other's squares. if somehow one of them were captured after moving into this position, you'd no longer have a correct answer)
